South American countries now produce the majority of the coffee consumed globally with Brazil responsible for about a third of the coffee produced in the entire world! . Colombia is probably the second most known country for its coffee production but Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru are also responsible for a small amount of exported coffee. However, we only seem to be able to get our hands on Peruvian coffee when it comes to high quality and thats because the other countries aren’t really focused on specialty coffee and instead use Robusta (a dark bitter tasting coffee) as their core offering.
