Light Body Coffees

A coffee with a light body does not mean it is thin or flavourless. Instead, a light body refers to a coffee with bright notes that dances gently across the palette each time you sip it.

These coffees generally have fine, delicate tasting notes that are best brewed by a method that doesn’t place too much stress on the beans. They are also generally roasted to a lighter roast, so the intricate flavours are not burnt out with the sugars in the beans. A lightness in the body can also be referred to as cleanliness in the cup, where none of the flavour notes overpowers another, they work alongside in harmony.

The third wave of coffee has made room for these kinds of coffees, with speciality coffee brewing methods really bringing some incredible drinks into their own. We are especially proud to stock the Colombian Tierradentro Organic coffee beans, which are a wonderful example of this fine and delicate body.
